Skyy (sometimes stylized as SKYY) is an American R&B, funk, and disco group formed in Brooklyn, New York, in the late 1970s. They’re best known for their smooth blend of funk grooves, soulful harmonies, and dancefloor-ready beats — a sound that made them staples of both the disco and early-’80s R&B scenes. The group was founded by Randy Muller, who also worked with Brass Construction and BT Express.
The vocal trio at the front consisted of the Dunning sisters — Denise, Delores, and Bonnie Dunning — whose harmonies became a Skyy trademark. Other key members included Solomon Roberts Jr., Tommy McConnell, Anibal “Booche” Sierra, Larry Greenberg, and Gerald Lebon.
Notable Hits:“Call Me” (1981) — their biggest hit, reaching the Billboard R&B Top 10 and crossing over to the Hot 100. “Let’s Celebrate” (1981) “Start of a Romance” (1989) — marked a major comeback in the late ’80s. “Real Love” (1989) “High” (1980)
