Leela James (born Alechia Janeice Campbell) is an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, California.
James made her recording debut in 2000, appearing on the Roots’ track “Work” from the *Bait* film soundtrack, credited as Alechia James.
In 2004, she toured as an opening act for the Black Eyed Peas and Macy Gray. That same year, she featured on hip-hop producer Pete Rock’s album *Soul Survivor II*, contributing vocals to the song “No Tears.”
