Tyler, The Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, Vince Staples & More Captivate Crowds At Camp Flog Gnaw 2024

Fans flooded into Dodgers Stadium on Nov. 16 and 17 for Camp Flog Gnaw 2024, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Tyler, The Creator’s first festival.

CFG (formerly known as the OFWGKTA Carnival or Odd Future carnival) is an annual music festival and carnival curated by Tyler, the Creator and has been held annually since its inception in 2012, taking a pause in 2020 to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year marked the festival’s 10th iteration, stacking the lineup with classic Odd Future favorites like Tyler, Earl Sweatshirt, Domo Genesis, Syd and Left Brain.

In February 2025, Tyler, the Creator will embark on his Chromakopia World Tour in support of his new album of the same name. This weekend, he performed songs from the No. 1 album for the first time, drawing a huge crowd as Saturday night’s headliner. In addition to throwing it back to some old hits like “DOGTOOTH.” and “She,” he brought out special guests including Sexyy Red to perform her verse on his Chromakopia track “Sticky.”

Earl Sweatshirt also did some fan service by performing songs both new and old, packing out the FLOG stage to perform tracks including “Molasses” and “Vin Skully,” perfect for the festival’s location at Dodgers Stadium. Tyler even came out at the end of Earl’s set, sparking a sweet moment between the two as they embraced onstage in honor of the festival’s decade long presence.

Festival veteran Vince Staples also had a huge showing for his set, going back as far as 2015 to perform his smash hit “Norf Norf” before ending his set with “Étouffée,” a track off his 2024 project, Dark Times.

A lot of sets over the weekend were packed with special guests and collaborations, showing the camaraderie between much of the lineup this year. Sets like Alchemist and Friends and Mustard and Friends were particularly packed with surprise appearances, with the Alchemist bringing out Earl, Action Bronson, and Boldy James and Mustard tapping Roddy Ricch and YG.

A surprise favorite among concert-goers was FM Mood, a tribute to the late great MF DOOM. Not knowing what to expect from the performance, a lot of the crowd expected a simple DJ set of DOOM’s songs, but instead, fans were treated to a live orchestra, mezmerizing the crowd with horns, keys, drums, and more. Yet another Dodgers reference came as orchestral conductor Miguel Atwood-Ferguson took the stage in a Fernando Valenzuela jersey, also rocking a mask akin to DOOM’s famous facewear.

Erykah Badu and Madlib also took the stage alongside the live orchestra, adding a special sentimentality to the performance.

It was a beautiful weekend seeing some of Los Angeles’ most beloved musicians come together to put on a great show, honoring a decade of Camp Flog Gnaw and Tyler, The Creator’s endless creativity. Until next year!
