Kendrick Lamar Finally Delivers And Surprise Drops New Album “GNX”

Well, after one of the most dominant years for any rapper in recent memory, Kendrick Lamar closed it out by suprise-dropping his new album GNX the week before Thanksgiving… Much to be thankful for, indeed. It’s 12 tracks and 44 minutes long, and for the sake of not spoiling anything, you won’t find any info on sonic pallets, lyrical mentions, and the like here. Of course, there’s a lot to get into and fans are already going wild with theories and such, but the important thing is that what we waited for is finally here. We can only guess at the discourse that will follow… Of course, this new album came just a few minutes after Kendrick Lamar shocked fans and dropped a trailer for the project on YouTube. At the time, we had no idea what it was about or what it could lead to, but we’re so happy that said skepticism only lasted for all of 30 minutes. “GNX” was a pretty dramatic sound with some tight rapping and a pretty modular progression as well, all qualities that have defined him throughout his whole career. First up is the obvious Drake battle that roped in a whole lot of other rappers and artists, some of which are seemingly pedaling back their initial sentiments. Future and Metro Boomin recently spoke to GQ about their regrets and reservations about the whole thing, and this follows a lot of other discussion around the small feuds that emerged as a result of the main showdown. It seems like the only ones who still stand by their runs are K.Dot and Drizzy, which is what it was always about. On the other hand, we have to think about Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming Super Bowl halftime show, and the controversy it caused. This is because folks felt like it should’ve gone to Lil Wayne, but a lot of debate on the subject reveals a lot of grey area for both arguments. But none of that matters now: The album is here! Katt Williams Clarifies Shocking Diddy Claims He Made On “Club Shay Shay”

Earlier this week, GQ published an exclusive interview with Katt Williams, which appears in their Men of The Year issue. In the interview, the controversial comedian discussed his viral appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast Club Shay Shay, which has racked up a staggering 83 million views since its January release. At the time, he went after several of his celebrity peers including Steve Harvey, Kevin Hart, Cedric The Entertainer, and more. He even made some shocking claims about Diddy, who is currently behind bars facing disturbing allegations. “Because P. Diddy be wanting to party, and you got to tell him no!” he alleged, “I did.” Williams told GQ how Diddy “ended up on his list,” and his answer was fairly simple. According to him, it all started with his love for 2Pac. “So when I was a young man, Tupac was my favorite artist. I loved Tupac. And I felt like we were kindred spirits,” he recalled. “So if I hear you responsible for knocking my n***a off — I don’t give a f**k what job I end up being in, I don’t care how things go, if I can get a way to get you, that’s what I’m all about.” Read More: Shannon Sharpe Hints At Second Bombshell Interview With Katt Williams Katt Williams Says He Didn’t Like Seeing Diddy “Walking Around Scot-Free”     View this post on Instagram   A post shared by The Shade Room (@theshaderoom) Williams continued, admitting he didn’t like seeing Diddy “walking around scot-free” considering all of the heinous things he’s allegedly done. “‘Cause you a demon, and I know demons are powerful, but I know why they’re powerful,” he explained. “It’s cold spiritual warfare going on out here in the real world. And part of my job is to not lose focus on that.” Williams’ first appearance on Club Shay Shay may not be his last, as earlier this week, Sharpe seemingly teased a second bombshell interview. “There’s a possibility that you might hear the haymakers very very soon,” he said on Nightcap recently. At the time of writing, the potential interview has no official release date. Juice WRLD Fans Absolutely Rip Into His Team For Posthumous Album’s Horrendous Cover Art

Juice WRLD left a huge void when he left us almost five years ago, but his fans, team, loved ones, and admirers continue to celebrate his life and legacy. However, posthumous releases are never easy to handle, and can often turn disrespectful or unfulfilling in the eyes of fans. That’s exactly what’s happening with the late Chicago legend’s upcoming third posthumous album The Party Never Ends, as fans are absolutely blasting the cover art for it. It looks Takashi Murakami-inspired, but overall, it just hit a lot of fans as ugly, overly colorful, and cheap. Definitely not the reception you want for a long-teased posthumous LP for one of hip-hop’s most passionate and impacted fanbases…. The cover art for Juice WRLD’s The Party Never Ends reportedly emerged thanks to its appearance in Fortnite, as he’s one of a few rap artists collaborating with the video game for its Chapter 2 Remix update. Of course, we don’t know what he would’ve done with the game if he was still alive, but there is certainly a lot of crossover there that his team and the game’s developers and publishers want to respect and celebrate. Instead, folks just want to hear Juice WRLD tracks that feel fully brought to life, appropriately marketed, compelling, and worthwhile. The Party Never Ends‘ lead single is the “All Girls Are The Same” remix, “AGATS2 (Insecure)” featuring Nicki Minaj, which is a dreamy reimagining of the original. Maybe this will comprise much of this new album, but the main concern is that it doesn’t feel like a soulless cash-grab that doesn’t add anything to the canon. At least there are other artistic tributes to Juice WRLD that are much more well-received, respectful, and impressive than the cover art for The Party Never Ends. For example, his mother has a gorgeous mural of him in her recently opened brewery just outside of his home city of Chicago. Hopefully we see more of these in the near future and not eyesore album covers. Boosie Badazz Wants To Get Fiancée Pregnant Again Immediately After She Gives Birth

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Boosie Badazz’s fiancée Rajel Nelson is pregnant with his ninth child. They hosted a gender reveal with family and friends shortly after and announced that their child was a girl. While the Louisiana rapper looked excited to hear his baby’s gender, he recently admitted that he wants a boy too, and won’t be wasting any time before trying for one. “Yeah, I wanted a boy,” he told his followers on Instagram Live. “I ain’t tripping I’ma to put another one in her right after that. Other people wait six weeks, I don’t wait six days. I ain’t waiting six days. I’m gone get that boy.” He went on, claiming that between him and Nelson, he’s the one who was pushing for a baby the most. Boosie is clearly eager to welcome a tenth child, and while it’ll likely take them longer than six days to get one, fans hope it happens for them eventually. Despite this, she says she’s pleased with how things have played out. “I did say I would like to be a wife before I have a kid, but God has blessed me to have a kid before I got married and that it okay,” she told her supporters on Instagram Live last week. “This is my baby. I made it. So, I’m gonna just– you know. I made my bed, so I gotta lay in it.” Boosie’s future baby plans also come shortly after Nelson shot down critics’ accusations that she was a “gold digger.” According to her, this couldn’t be further from the truth, as she makes her own money. Moreover, she slammed social media users who always have something negative to say about her relationship, suggesting it’s simply a reflection of their own lives. TI Berates Bouncer After Being Denied Entry To Texas Restaurant: Watch

TI recently attempted to visit a restaurant in Austin, TX. Unfortunately, however, he was denied entry because he didn’t have an ID on him. The rapper was incredibly annoyed by this and proceeded to take it out on the bouncer who turned him away. In a clip, he’s seen making fun of the man’s clothes, shoes, and more. “There’s a sucker right here at the front talkin’ ’bout I need some ID to get in somewhere,” he said before ripping the man’s outfit to shreds. Throughout the uncomfortable interaction, the bouncer remained fairly silent. He also didn’t budge on his decision to deny the Atlanta artist entry. For the most part, social media users are taking his side, and arguing that the way TI handled the situation was immature. Moreover, they’re praising the bouncer for staying calm, and not letting the hateful remarks get to him. At the time of writing, TI has yet to address the backlash he’s receiving over the debacle. This isn’t the first time he’s been called out as of late, however. Earlier this month, Young Thug’s father Jeffery Williams Sr. called out artists from Atlanta who failed to voice their support for his son while he was behind bars. Social media users suspected he was referring to TI in particular, who had just shared a video of him FaceTiming Young Thug following his prison release. “All this, for your personal gain. It’s just for your personal gain. Your personal hype. Trying to make yourself relevant… Where have y’all been?” Williams Sr. wondered. U.S. District Judge in Diddy Fed Case Orders Prosecutors “To Get Rid of” Notes Found in Cell

Here’s breaking-ish news in Diddy’s epic legal case. In a significant development, a judge has ordered prosecutors to destroy copies of the rapper’s handwritten notes that reportedly were seized during a recent raid on his jail cell at the notorious federal lockup he’s being held awaiting trial. Get this, the notes, which Combs’ defense team argues are protected by attorney-client privilege, were obtained during an October 28 search of his cell at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. Now, that’s usually a no-no. But when a Manhattan federal court hearing went down on Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian gave clear instructions to prosecutors that they had to “get rid of them” while he considers the defense’s argument that the notes are confidential communications between Combs and his legal team. What’s more, Judge Subramanian clarified that a separate team within the U.S. Attorney’s Office, responsible for screening documents for privilege, could keep a copy of the notes for review. That’s interesting. There’s nuance to all of this chaos. As expected, Combs’ legal team had previously raised alarms about the raid, arguing that it violated his constitutional rights. A hard argument to prove but who knows. Check it, they described the search as “outrageous,” claiming it infringed on Combs’ right to a fair trial and protections against self-incrimination. Attorney Marc Agnifilo referred to the incident as a “complete institutional failure” and stressed that the seizure of Combs’ legal notes was an unlawful breach of his rights. The so-called search itself was part of a broader “safety and security initiative” at the detention center, which had been scheduled before Combs’ September arrest. Sounds like a smoke screen but we really do not know. Prosecutors claim the search resulted in the discovery of several personal items, including a manila folder labeled “legal,” a notebook, and an address book. While some materials were submitted for review, prosecutors assert that the notes, which touched on business matters and family concerns, do not fall under the category of privileged legal communications. Diving in, prosecutors also allege that Combs’ notes include references to paying off potential witnesses and gathering damaging information about them, actions that could amount to obstruction of justice. This claim further complicates the defense’s argument for attorney-client privilege. Bringing you fully up to speed, a hearing on Combs’ bail request is scheduled for Friday, and the legal battle over the notes continues as the court decides whether they will be used in the preparation for his trial. Meanwhile, the judge has ruled that the notes should not be used by prosecutors to determine whether Combs should be granted bail. Makes sense. Let’s see how it all unfolds. Influencers Reportedly Targeted by Private Investigators Over Content Connected to Diddy

Now TikTok has entered the toxic Diddy chat. Several so called TikTok influencers have reported they received surprising visits from private investigators. Okay. The revelation sparked speculation about a larger investigation connected to music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. Well, duh. Get this, TikToker Samson Crouppen (@samsoncrouppen1) posted a video on Monday showing two investigators arriving at his Los Angeles home. According to Crouppen, the investigators questioned him about whether he had been paid to create content related to Diddy. He denied any such arrangement and expressed confusion over their inquiry. What’s more, the investigators reportedly pressed him further, repeatedly asking if financial incentives had influenced his posts about the music mogul. Wow. So now if you post content related to someone under fire, then you might get pulled up on by private investigators? What world is this? Check it, in response to the incident, Crouppen filed a harassment complaint with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), further drawing attention to the unusual nature of the visit. It did not stop there, another influencer, Amala Ekpunobi (@amalaekpunobi), shared her own similar experience. Ekpunobi claimed that the same investigators approached her and offered money in exchange for information about anyone allegedly paying her to create content related to Diddy. Ekpunobi, who has posted multiple stories discussing the rapper, also denied any payments and revealed that the investigators mentioned targeting at least ten other influencers as part of their probe. Diddy’s alleged private investigator, named Russell Greene, is allegedly calling TikTokers and using intimidation in an attempt to silence them from speaking about him in relation to Lil Rod’s lawsuit. TikToker ItsVicKieMae recorded a phone conversation in which Russell Greene… pic.twitter.com/6xbyUhdmfU — The Art Of Dialogue (@ArtOfDialogue_) April 4, 2024 As you can expect, the legal battles surrounding Diddy continue to attract public attention. Influencers have found themselves unexpectedly caught up in the controversy, but if they don’t want the smoke then maybe they should find something else to post. Nicki Minaj Has Hilarious Response To Keke Palmer’s Impression Of Her

Keke Palmer can do it all. She can sing, she can act, and she can deliver one hell of a celebrity impression. Her versatility has made her a staple on game shows and late night television, and her latest appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon is a prime example of why. Keke Palmer recounted a memorable encounter with Nicki Minaj, and proceeded to dazzle the audience with a spot on impression of the New York rapper. An impression so good it even charmed Minaj. Keke Palmer claimed that she ran into the rapper shortly after she became a mother. Nicki Minaj called her over a for a conversation, but the sternness in her voice freaked Palmer out. She recounted this very stern approach in her Tonight Show impression. She absolutely nails Nicki Minaj’s accent and cadence, and host Jimmy Fallon couldn’t help but start laughing. Fortunately, for Keke Palmer, the red carpet chat was a positive one. Nicki Minaj merely gave the actress a pep talk and urged her to keep her head up, in the event that things become difficult. But I just wanna tell you, nobody knows what it’s like when we turn off the lights and we gotta be with ourselves. So you do whatever you need to do to be good with you.” Keke Palmer recalled being very relieved, given Nicki Minaj’s reputation for combativeness. She claimed she thanked the rapper for her kind words and has tried to apply them in her own life. Nicki Minaj saw the Tonight Show interview and proceeded to follow up on the anecdote via Twitter. Nicki Minaj responded to Keke Palmer’s impression in a humorous light. She noted that the actress’ heartwarming story could jeopardize her reputation as a cutthroat rapper. “Ummmm…why would she even tell that story? doesn’t she know that could mess up the whole ‘bad guy’ thing?,” the NY rapper tweeted out. Minaj wrapped things up with another joke, claiming that she’s going to send a cease and desist to Palmer due to her spot on impression. “Let’s see if she still laughin when she get hit w/that cease & desist chi.” All good fun. Metro Boomin Explains Why He “Regrets” Dissing Drake On Twitter

Metro Boomin and Future have the honor of being two of GQ‘s men of the year. They will be featured in an upcoming profile, and hip hop personality Elliott Wilson shared excerpts of their interview on Nov. 20. The interview revolved around the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud that both men played a role in. Metro Boomin, in particular, made his disdain for Drake clearing during the peak of the feud. Now, however, the producer is singing a different tune. He told GQ that he regretted the way the whole thing went down, and felt his actions were out of character. Metro Boomin admits he was frustrated by the fact Drake dissed him on record. Metro isn’t a rapper, obviously, so he felt compelled to respond via social media. This was the decision he came to regret. “Now I did have my moment online, which I do regret,” he explained. “I should have been stronger than that. That was out of character for me.” Metro Boomin backpedaled, somewhat, and said that he didn’t have a musical voice the same way Drake did, so social media was the next best option. At least, he felt it was at the time. “So you’re going to just sh*t on me on all of these songs,” he told GQ. “I’m not going to get in the booth, so I’m finna tweet at you.” Read More: Future, Metro Boomin & Rick Ross Show Off Their “Everyday Hustle” In New Music Video Metro Boomin Claimed Drake “Really Hurt” Him Metro Boomin says he regrets going on an “anti-Drake tweet spree” earlier this year “Now I did have my moment online, which I do regret. Pretty effectively, we might add. The “BBL Drizzy” instrumental went viral on social media, and even led to a challenge in which fans hopped on the beat to diss the 6 God. We digress. Metro Boomin said that the whole conflict between him and Drake stemmed from a personal slight. It was not over a woman, as some fans have theorized. “We had a personal issue, and for the record, not over no girl or nothing silly like that,” Metro Boomin asserted. “It was a personal issue that really hurt me and disappointed me.” Metro also shot down the notion that him and Future based their collab albums around their shared disdain for Drake. He mocked the notion that they would spend time and money just to hate on another artist. “That’s some serious hate,” he remarked. Future also gave his two cents on the Drake feud during the GQ interview. He spent more time talking about Kendrick Lamar’s “Like That” verse, though, and the ways in which he felt slighted not being mentioned as part of the “Big Three.” Read More: Metro Boomin Appears To Tease Post-Prison Young Thug Collab The post Metro Boomin Explains Why He “Regrets” Dissing Drake On Twitter appeared first on HotNewHipHop.
